It was BlaBlacar, which has all three types of offers, who announced the news on Thursday.

"Users looking for a route on Google Maps will be offered carpooling trips in the 'public transport' tab," said a statement from the company.

If a trip is suitable, the user will be referred to the BlaBlaLines application in order to book it.

Trips from 1 to 5 euros

To use this function, you must enter your home and work address as well as your hours on the Google Maps application.

It will then be possible to receive or send carpooling proposals to people making a journey similar to his.

BlaBlaLines now has 1.5 million users, according to BlaBlaCar.

Work-home carpooling prices vary between one and five euros per passenger.

"Carpooling minimizes the number of people with whom we are in contact", explains the platform, which therefore makes it "the best alternative to conventional public transport" in the midst of the coronavirus health crisis.
