Dubai Emerging Enterprises, one of the innovative initiatives of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support entrepreneurship, revealed an increase in the number of its members by 236% during the first half of this year, as the accelerated digital transformation, especially during the current situation, has pushed many companies Startups in Dubai and abroad, to take advantage of emerging opportunities, and to work on creating new business solutions.

In a statement issued yesterday, "Dubai Emerging Enterprises" indicated that the number of its members reached 1568 during the first half of 2020, compared to 466 members during the same period last year, with a monthly growth rate of 13%.

She added that more than 1,200 entrepreneurs have benefited from the programs and initiatives of the «Dubai Startups», with the organization of 23 virtual events and seminars, bringing the total number of beneficiaries of the initiative to more than 8,200 beneficiaries since the launch of the initiative in 2016.

Dubai Startups indicated that Emirati entrepreneurs constitute a quarter of the total number of beneficiaries of the initiative during the first half of this year.

She pointed out that, in the context of adapting to the global changes imposed by the spread of the Coronavirus on the business environment and emerging projects, it has reformulated its programs and initiatives to meet the evolving needs of emerging companies and small and medium-sized companies in Dubai, to include organizing workshops and virtual training courses on finance and banking services. Expanding externally and digital innovation.

Dubai Emerging Enterprises explained that at the global level it cooperated with more than 70 business incubators in countries around the world during the first half of this year, to include India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Hungary, Germany and China, in addition to receiving more than 50% of the participation requests from Outside the UAE in its main programs.
