RIA Novosti reports.

"The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia expects the stabilization of prices in the domestic market after the completion of the harvesting campaign," the ministry said.

At the same time, the department assessed the situation in the food market as stable.

They recalled that they are working with the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Prosecutor General's Office to identify the facts of unjustified overpricing.

The FAS, in turn, said that they are continuing a large investigation of the sugar market and do not see objective economic prerequisites for further price increases.

“There are no objective economic prerequisites for further price increases.

If we find signs of collusion, then we will take anti-monopoly response measures, ”said Andrey Tenishev, head of the anti-cartel department.

In April, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov instructed regional prosecutors to immediately respond to data on overpricing of socially important goods.
