(The 3rd China International Import Expo) China's catalog of banned and restricted import technologies will highlight market regulation

China News Service, Shanghai, November 6 (Reporter Li Xiaoyu) China recently proposed to compress the list of banned and restricted technologies.

An official of the Ministry of Commerce of China said on the 6th that the adjustment of the catalogue will highlight the role of market regulation.

The "Catalogue of China's Import Prohibited and Restricted Technologies" was first announced and implemented in 2001 and was first revised in 2007.

It has been more than 10 years since the 2007 edition of the "Catalog" was released, and includes 39 banned imports and 87 restricted imports.

Among them, image digital processing technology, paper shredder manufacturing technology, conventional sewage treatment technology, and domestic waste "zero pollution" treatment technology are all restricted from imports.

Chen Chunjiang, Director of the Department of Service and Trade of the Ministry of Commerce of China, stated at the press conference held that day that these prohibited or restricted technology items "many of the content no longer meet the needs of the globalization of technological innovation."

He revealed that in addition to retaining the necessary technical items related to national security and environmental safety, the adjustment of the "Catalog" will highlight the role of market regulation, compress the items prohibited and restricted from imports, and further improve the business environment for technology trade.
