As reported by TASS, the appeal was filed with the Polish court for the protection of competition and consumers.

“The company fundamentally disagrees with the position of UOKiK and the decision to impose a fine of about € 6.5 billion,” the statement said.

Earlier it became known that the Polish Office for the Protection of Competition and Consumers (UOKiK) decided to fine Gazprom and the five European companies cooperating with it for the construction of Nord Stream 2.

UOKiK requires them to terminate the partnership agreement.

The Austrian OMV announced its intention to appeal the claim.

As emphasized in the Russian Foreign Ministry, this is another politically motivated attempt to put pressure on the Russian gas exporter, which has reliably supplied natural gas to European consumers for many years.
