Elimination of import restrictions on marine products in 7 prefectures including Fukushima, Egypt November 4, 11:49

The import restrictions on marine products in seven prefectures, including Fukushima Prefecture, which Egypt had continued since the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, have been lifted.

After the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, Egypt regulated food imports from Japan and then gradually relaxed the regulations, but inspected for radioactive substances in marine products in seven prefectures including Fukushima prefecture. We have continued to take mandatory measures.



According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Egyptian government has notified that all regulations have been lifted on November 2, resulting in Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, and Chiba prefectures. It will be easier to export marine products from a total of 7 prefectures.



With this, there are no restrictions on food imports from Japan throughout Africa.



On the other hand, 18 countries and regions such as China and Taiwan continue to take measures such as restricting imports from some regions of Japan, and the government will continue to work to remove the regulations.
