The Council of Ministers approved this Tuesday a subsidy for the unemployed who exhausted all unemployment benefits during the months of confinement with an amount of 430 euros for three months, according to government sources.

The measure is one of those demanded by the unions already in the declaration of the first state of alarm together with the set of initiatives launched in March.

With the expected increase in employment regulations this fall due to the second wave of infections, the government has taken the step.

The UGT and CCOO unions demanded in writing that the Government react to this second wave with a new battery of measures that complement those already deployed so far.

The new benefit is incompatible with the minimum income, the inclusion income, the social wage or similar aid from any public administration.

It will amount to an amount of 80% of the IPREM (430 euros) for a period of three months.

According to calculations by the Ministry of Labor, it could reach about 250,000 unemployed, since it is aimed at unemployed workers who between March 14 and June 30 exhausted their unemployment and also suffer aggravating circumstances such as not being able to find work due to the new health measures deployed by the administrations and the slowdown in economic activity.

Along with this, the Council of Ministers has also approved an unemployment benefit for technical or auxiliary personnel in events or cultural works with which they hope to reach more than 10,000 workers, reports EFE.

The green light has also been given to the extension, until January 31, 2021, of the extraordinary economic benefit for unemployment for artists in public performances.

This expansion, which will cover some 35,567 workers, will have an estimated cost of 95.4 million
