In October 2020, the container throughput of Shanghai Port exceeded 4 million TEUs in a single month for the first time, setting a new monthly historical record with 4.2 million TEUs, and the entire Yangshan Port accounted for nearly half.
Among them, the Shangdong Branch of Yangshan Phase IV Automation Terminal set a new monthly container throughput with 455,000 TEUs.
Fang Huaijin, vice president of SIPG, told reporters that in 2020, the container throughput of Yangshan Port will exceed 20 million containers, which is equivalent to the total container throughput of all terminals on the west coast of the United States.
