According to Ren Zhiwu, as of the end of September 2020, China's installed renewable energy power generation capacity reached 837 million kilowatts; of which, hydropower installed capacity was 365 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity was 223 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation installed capacity was 223 million kilowatts, and biomass power generation capacity was 26.16 million kilowatts.
At the same time, in the first three quarters, renewable energy power generation accounted for nearly 30% of the total power generation.
The rapid development of the renewable energy industry has become a new driving force for high-quality economic growth.
Ren Zhiwu suggested that it is necessary to clarify the near and medium-term goals, promote the development of a high proportion of new energy and renewable energy, actively expand the connotation and extension of new energy, continue to increase technological innovation in the field of new energy, and promote the construction of new power with a high proportion of renewable energy.
