Jean Castex is expected to announce this evening the closure of "non-essential" departments of supermarkets to appease the rebellion of small traders, severely impacted by the containment decided to fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

It is now "equity" which will prevail: as advanced by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, Prime Minister Jean Castex should announce the closure of "non-essential" departments of supermarkets, Sunday evening.

In other words, if a small business is closed because of the confinement aimed at reducing the spread of the coronavirus, supermarkets will have to trivialize their department selling the same goods as them.

For example, since clothing stores are currently closed, it will no longer be a question of being able to buy clothes in supermarkets.

This is an answer that may seem absurd, but it is essential to limit the movements of the population, is justified in the highest place.

Gauges in supermarkets

For the moment, it is also out of the question to reopen stores.

The reason is simple: the epidemiological data are very worrying.

In the same logic, large retailers will have to apply gauges and therefore limit the number of customers: on Saturday, we could see images here and there of supermarkets which were rather well filled with customers ...

Small glimmer of hope anyway: meetings will take place in the days to come to see if it is possible, perhaps, to reopen the shops, perhaps, for example, by appointment.
