The Government and Citizens have agreed that the increase in taxes on diesel that appears in the draft of the General State Budget disappears in the parliamentary process.

Sources from the leadership of Cs have explained to EL MUNDO that this was the last demand raised by the party of Inés Arrimadas to sit down to negotiate the public accounts, which they hope will become "national reconstruction accounts" after the economic catastrophe generated. for the coronavirus crisis.

In the past weeks, Ciudadanos has transferred to the Executive a series of "orange lines", they say, that had to be fulfilled so that this formation could later negotiate the Budgets.

Most of them were aimed at limiting tax increases, so that they do not affect the middle classes.

As this newspaper has been able to know, Cs has demanded that the Corporation Tax not have a minimum of 15%, as the Government intended and as it included in the 2019 project;

or that the VAT not be raised neither to private and concerted education, nor to private health, at a time when many citizens are resorting to it given the collapse of public health.

Cs also demanded that the personal income tax not be raised on incomes over 130,000 euros, finally it has remained, in the incomes of more than 300,000, and that the diesel tax should not be raised.

This last point was not finally included in the draft agreed between the two partners of the coalition government, PSOE and Podemos.

However, sources close to Inés Arrimadas assure that there is a "commitment" by the Executive to eliminate this tax increase on fuels in the parliamentary process.

All these measures, agreed between Pedro Sánchez and Arrimadas, will now make it possible for Cs to sit down to negotiate the details of the public accounts. The liberal formation has also asked for more spending on health and education.

But the details of the games will begin to be negotiated from now on.

"All this does not mean that we are going to vote yes to the General State Budgets", they explain from Cs, "it only allows us to be able to sit down to negotiate the public accounts so that they are as

orange as

possible."

From Cs they emphasize that their conditions, accepted by the Government, "amend the 2019 budget proposal between the PSOE and Podemos" and that now "they are reflected in what was announced on Monday."

Citizens will support from now on the budget processing so that the negotiation of the Budgets can begin.
