In March 2019, the United Nations Environment Program released the "Beijing’s Twenty Years of Air Pollution Governance Process and Prospects" evaluation report. It pointed out that Beijing’s efforts to improve the quality of the air environment provide other cities around the world, especially cities in developing countries. In the preamble of the report, it stated that “no other city or region in the world has achieved this.”
