today's (26th) stock market, Samsung Group's stock price rose a lot.

In particular, Samsung C&T, the largest shareholder of Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, rose more than 13%.

The trading volume exceeded 9 million shares, reaching 33 times the previous trading day.

Preferred shares of Samsung C&T also closed after rising to the price limit at the beginning of the market.

Along with this, Samsung SDS also showed a relatively high rate of increase of 5%, and Samsung Life Insurance showed a relatively high rate of 3%.

These share price movements are linked to Samsung Group's inheritance issues and the possibility of changes in its governance structure.

Reporter Yoo Deok-ki looked at this part.

There is no great disagreement over the prospect that Samsung C&T, the largest shareholder, with a stake of over 17%, Lee Jae-yong, will continue to serve as the group's holding company.

[Researcher Lee Sang-heon/Hi Investment & Securities: The corporate governance structure will not change, but even in the midst of the change, (Samsung C&T) has no choice but to play a key role

."

Chairman Lee Kun-hee, who will be inherited by Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, has a stake of over 18 trillion won.

The inheritance tax owed by the family is expected to reach about 11 trillion won.

Even if paid in installments over five years, KRW 1.8 trillion is required every year.

The surge in the share price of Samsung C&T, which is held by Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Lee Bu-jin, Lee Seo-hyun, and other family members, can be interpreted as reflecting expectations of dividend expansion.

Also, the fact that Samsung SDS, which the three siblings share, is highly likely to use it in terms of paying inheritance tax, whether it is a dividend or stock mortgage loan, was positive for the stock price.

It is highly likely that Samsung Electronics and Samsung Life will also strengthen their shareholder return policies, such as increasing dividends.

Although changes in the Samsung Group's governance structure are inevitable, there are many analyzes that it is difficult to visualize in a short period of time due to various variables such as the handling of amendments to the insurance industry law.
