Civil Aviation: 1000 aircraft use the UAE's airspace daily

Saif Al-Suwaidi: “The effects that (Corona) affected aviation movement worldwide have gradually diminished.”

The General Authority of Civil Aviation revealed that the number of aircraft used for the country's airspace increased during this October to about 1,000 aircraft per day, an increase of more than 200% compared to last April.

The Director General of the Authority, Saif Muhammad Al-Suwaidi, said that the effects that the aviation movement faced, worldwide, as a result of the outbreak of the new Corona epidemic began to gradually fade away, referring to the efforts made by the concerned authorities in the country with the civil aviation sector to contain these effects with high efficiency .

He stressed the application of practical solutions that allow the safe operation of flights, while taking all precautionary measures to ensure that the spread of the epidemic is limited.

Al-Suwaidi expressed his happiness to see the gradual return to air traffic, expecting the continued gradual recovery of the sector in the country and the world, and a full recovery.

Al-Suwaidi added that the UAE’s operation of two new national carriers during the crisis period represents an important addition to the sector, referring to “Air Arabia - Abu Dhabi” and “Wizz Air - Abu Dhabi.”
