Energy consumption virtually zero Facility disclosure Energy saving and introduction of solar power generation October 16 14:25

With the introduction of energy saving and solar power generation, a facility that reduces annual energy consumption to virtually zero was completed in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and was opened to the press.

The government is supporting the introduction of necessary equipment by subsidizing it in order to popularize buildings that reduce annual energy consumption to virtually zero.

These buildings are called ZEB = Net Zero Energy Building, and the completed facility in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture was opened to the press on the 16th.

This facility is the "demonstration building" of Mitsubishi Electric, a major electronics manufacturer, and was the first building in Japan to be certified by ZEB as a building with a total floor area of 6000 square meters or more.

In order to reduce power consumption, we use highly efficient air-conditioning equipment and panels that allow hot and cold water to flow inside, and also install large windows to let in sunlight.

We also increased the amount of power generated by installing solar panels not only on the rooftop but also on the eaves of windows.

The company expects that the demand for environmental measures for buildings will increase, and hopes to promote the development of energy-saving technology for buildings through experiments in the demonstration building and utilize it for business.

Kazuhiro Kusunoki, director of the Mitsubishi Electric Information Technology Institute, said, "The movement to live while considering the environment is expanding, and we want to create an environment where people can work comfortably even with energy savings."
