45% reduction in usage fees for state-controlled airports Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism at 11:39 on October 16 to reduce the burden on airlines

At a post-Cabinet meeting on the 16th, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akaba will pay for all domestic flights after August at airports managed by the government, such as Haneda Airport, regarding the "airport charges" borne by airline companies. He revealed his intention to reduce the amount by 45%.

The "airport usage fee" is paid to the administrator by each airline company as a consideration for using the runway, and is said to account for about 10% of the cost of operating an aircraft.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will pay airport charges for half a year until July to support the management of airlines whose business environment is deteriorating due to significant suspensions and reduced flights due to the effects of the new coronavirus. However, I decided that further support was needed as the infection could not be resolved.
