[Tide Yangtze River Delta] Xuzhou's urban green exports: "eat dry and squeeze" garbage, and produce energy

Chinanews client Xuzhou, October 15th (Zuo Yukun) With the implementation of garbage sorting policies in more and more cities, "What kind of garbage are you" has become the soul of the people in the country.

Where do all kinds of garbage go?

How much contribution can the "wet garbage" that you and I have worked so hard to make to the environment?

On the morning of October 14th, the interview group of the theme network communication activity "Tide Yangtze River Delta · Co-construction in Progress" came to Xuzhou City Circular Economy Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, to see how the garbage that we classified was "eaten and squeezed" of.

Diesel, power generation, feed... the destination of wet garbage is resources

Walking into the Xuzhou Food and Kitchen Waste Treatment Plant, there is an "inner smell" in the air.

The faint fermentation broth merges with the rotten taste of the food, brewing the ability to soak up all the kitchen waste in downtown Xuzhou.

"At present, our daily processing capacity is about 550-600 tons, mainly including kitchen waste from various catering units, kitchen waste from residential communities and perishable waste from farmer's markets." Liu Yongtao, deputy director of Xuzhou City Food Waste Treatment Plant According to the introduction, the food waste treatment process is mainly divided into two parts: pre-treatment, later biogas production and biodiesel production.

"After the garbage arrives at the factory, it is treated with professional equipment, high temperature, sterilization, three kinds of separation, and harmless treatment." Liu Yongtao said: "Specifically, the treated grease enters the esterification reaction tank to make biodiesel; The biogas slurry is anaerobic fermentation to produce biogas, which can be used to generate electricity after purification; the solid residue is further processed and utilized to produce some high-protein nutritional additives."

Liu Yongtao said that 50 cubic meters of biogas can be produced per cubic meter of kitchen waste, and about 17,000 cubic meters of biogas can be produced per day. The purified biogas is transported to the boiler system for combustion and the steam produced by the whole plant can be used. The power grid is used elsewhere.

About 15 tons of biodiesel can be made every day, which can be used in aviation and chemical industry.

The food waste treatment plant is a microcosm of Xuzhou City's Circular Economy Industrial Park.

In May 2019, Xuzhou City became the first batch of national “waste-free city” construction pilot projects. The industrial park, guided by the theory of circular economy, changed the traditional economic growth mode of “resources-products-waste” and cultivated “resources-products- "Waste-renewable resources" is a "green industry" for the development of a circular economy.

The "Xuzhou Model" of circular economy, creating a green export for the city

"In the past, solid waste disposal and utilization projects were mostly based on independent construction and classification of their effectiveness. Problems such as geographical space fragmentation of facilities, independent decentralized operations, high cost of co-processing, difficulty in monitoring the whole process, and secondary pollution by by-products were common." Shi Feng, executive deputy general manager of Xinsheng Luyuan Company of Xinsheng Investment Holding Group, told reporters.

In the industrial park, five major areas including solid waste treatment zone, environmental protection technology innovation zone, renewable resource utilization zone, environmental protection equipment product research and development and manufacturing zone, and Yanqun Landfill Site Comprehensive Development Zone enable garbage to be treated in different categories. "Xuzhou All garbage in the industrial park must be treated in a harmless and resource-based way, and garbage and pollutants will not be transported out of Xuzhou."

In addition, the Xuzhou City Circular Economy Industrial Park is also building comprehensive materials disposal (hazardous waste), sewage treatment plants, medical waste plastic reuse, saturated waste activated carbon reuse and other projects. It is expected that most of the project entities will be completed by the end of 2020. It will enter trial operation in the first half of next year.

At the same time, the second phase of the industrial park will start planning and construction, focusing on "resource recycling projects", focusing on car dismantling, engineering remanufacturing, non-ferrous metal refining, ternary battery dismantling, new materials and other projects. Large industries are connected and linked, extend the industrial chain, actively build an "ecological circle" of circular economy, and strive to build a "tens of billions" industrial park.

"The treatment of wet garbage is a difficult problem, but it is simple in the factory." In Liu Yongtao's view, effective garbage disposal can not only protect the environment, but also prevent drain oil and swill oil from returning to the table from the source to protect the common people. "Safety on the tip of the tongue".

"A city must not only develop upwards and forward, but also have supporting underpinning guarantees." With this "green export", Xuzhou is striding forward on the road of a waste-free city.
