Sixt is adapting to the crisis in the car rental industry.

The German company offers since Tuesday the Sixt + package, a monthly rental service by long-term subscription, but which can be interrupted at any time, reports

Les Echos

.

The monthly subscription includes a vehicle to be chosen from among those available for rental.

For a starting price set at 359 euros per month, the customer can have a Smart, a Fiat 500 or a Renault Twingo.

It can go up to 969 euros per month for the most expensive models.

The Sixt + subscription includes a mileage package and insurance that includes civil liability coverage, theft and collision protections.

Repairs are taken care of, as is maintenance.

Similar offers are already offered by car manufacturers "but they suppose to be committed for a long and determined period and the early termination of the contract is often very expensive", explains Jean-Philippe Doyen, president of Sixt France.

To retract, it is imperative to wait the first thirty days.

Another advantage of this formula is that it is possible to change vehicles.

This can give customers the opportunity to test the latest models of electric cars, the manager said.

Sixt + is available in 40 branches in France.
