Nakheel offers new destinations for boat and yachting enthusiasts in the UAE

Nakheel is beginning the peak sailing season by providing boat and yacht owners from all over the Emirates and tour operators with access to two new exclusive destinations from the islands located in the Arabian Gulf.

Boat and yacht owners can now enjoy day trips or overnight stays in the "Deira Islands", the new coastal city of Nakheel in the northern emirate, as well as a private island off the "Dubai Waterfront" in the south.

Nakheel’s Chief Commercial Officer, Akil Kazim, said: “We are expanding our marine facilities to reflect the continuous growth in the recreational boats sector in the UAE. To 165 meters, sea lovers from different parts of the country, as it will strengthen the country's position as a distinct destination for this sector.

"Nakheel will add new berths in the Deira Islands to meet the growing demand for mooring facilities, while the Palm Jumeirah marinas, which have more than 400 members, are operating at full capacity," Kazim added.

His Excellency Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, said: “Cruise tourism, both locally and internationally, plays a prominent role in enhancing Dubai's position as a distinctive tourist destination. Dubai, which enjoys international standards, and they will contribute to the development of this growing sector. "

The two new destinations, "Deira Islands" and "Dubai Waterfront", complement the "Nakheel" recreational boat destination located on the Antarctic Island within "The Islands of the World", which welcomed more than 700 boat and yacht owners last year.

It is noteworthy that entry to all destinations is free of charge for members of the "Palm Jumeirah" marina. Other boats and yachtsmen can also enter for a small fee, depending on their sizes.

Visitors can enjoy a range of water activities using their own equipment, including swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, boating and stand-up paddling. Overnight permits are also available upon request.
