Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda and users exchanged opinions on the reduction of mobile phone charges.

From the user side, there are opinions such as complaining about the actual situation that is a burden on households and pointing out the difficulty of understanding the fee system, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will reflect it in future policies.

On the 8th, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda exchanged opinions with five representatives of housewives and senior citizens' groups at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on mobile phone charge levels.



At the beginning, Minister Takeda said, "Mobile phones are a daily necessities. I would like to take the lead in realizing cheap, easy-to-understand, and convincing rates and services."



After that, the exchange of opinions was held privately, but from the user side, "Online events are increasing due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and communication charges are a burden on households. The charge system is difficult to understand and it is cheap. There were opinions such as "If you think that it will be higher when the campaign period ends" and "The usage period is restricted and you cannot easily change the contract".



Minister Takeda had individual opinions with the top management of major mobile phone companies last week, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will reflect the opinions of both businesses and users in future policies.
