On the 8th, a new model of SUV = multipurpose sports vehicle, in which a woman was the first person in charge of development at the automobile manufacturer "Mazda", was released.

Mazda has released the small SUV "MX-30", which is equipped with an independently developed hybrid system.

Tomiko Takeuchi, who has a background as a test driver, was the first woman to be in charge of development.

One of the features is how to open the door, and not only the front seats but also the back seats have a structure like a double door that opens on the center side.

In addition, the pillars between the front and rear doors have been eliminated, making it easier to put in and take out strollers and large luggage.

Cork is used for the grip of the tray and door between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat, and it is a specification that symbolizes Mazda's 100th anniversary, which began with the production of cork.

At the press conference, Mr. Takeuchi said, "We aimed for a car that can be spent naturally. We want many people to ride it regardless of gender or age."

Following this hybrid vehicle, Mazda plans to launch an electric vehicle model in Japan in January next year, following Europe, and hopes to comply with stricter environmental regulations worldwide.

President Akira Marumoto said, "We were able to bring a car with new value to the milestone of the 100th anniversary. We want to make it a year to convey Mazda's will to take on the challenge of change."
