The pandemic has triggered online shopping and three out of 10 Spaniards bought products through this channel from January to June, compared to 16.8% (one in 10) who did so in the same period of the previous year.

This is revealed by a study conducted by

Aecoc, the Association of Companies and Manufacturers of Mass Consumption

The mass market sector includes all the food and beverage, drugstore and hygiene products that we buy in stores, supermarkets.

The association has prepared the report

E-Commerce in Mass Consumption

, after having analyzed during the last 24 months the activity on the Internet of more than 10,000 users.

The percentage of visitors to the websites of

online supermarkets

grew from January to June, going from 47.9% in the first six months of last year to

55.6%

in the same period of 2020.

The report details which were the most purchased brands in each category of consumer goods: food, beverages, pets, health and beauty, drugstore and baby.

According to this ranking, in drinks

Coca-Cola, Mahou, Fanta, Cruzcampo

and

Don Simón

led the ranking

.

In the food part, they were

Danone, Pescanova, El Pozo,

Nestlé

and

Campofrío

.

In Drugstore, the five places A

riel, Scottex, Finish, Fairy

and

Sanytol are scored

.

In health and beauty, the most purchased brands were

La Roche Posay

creams

, Gillette

and the Satisfayer sucker brand.

Last year around the same dates the list differed a bit, especially in the health and beauty category, where

As for the chains, the giant Amazon is the largest distributor of consumer products in Spain online, according to the report, followed by the
