The brothers and sisters who smuggled famous brand counterfeit goods such as'extra S-class fake' bags worth 13 million won from China and sold them through membership blogs and social media were caught.

The Seoul Headquarters Customs is accused of violating the Customs Act, the Trademark Act, and the regulation and punishment of the concealment of criminal proceeds. It was announced today (7th) that it was arrested and handed over to the prosecution.

A is being prosecuted in prison, and B is being investigated without custody.

According to the Seoul Customs, A residing in China and his sister B, who was responsible for shipping in Korea, have operated blogs and social media (bands) that sell counterfeit products on a membership basis since 2015.

They received pre-orders from members, and when payment was made, they produced counterfeit products of famous high-priced brands at a Chinese manufacturing plant, and delivered them to the orderer by international mail (EMS) or express freight.

The counterfeit bags, shoes, and accessories produced by the brothers and sisters and distributed domestically amounted to 29 billion won in genuine market prices.

They attracted buyers by boasting to members that the counterfeit products they sell were so-called'extra S-class fakes' that are difficult to distinguish from genuine products.

For example, counterfeit products of Hermes bags, which are difficult to purchase because the genuine price reaches 110 million won and you have to go through the wait even if you have money, sold for 13 million won each.

To avoid being tracked by the investigative authorities, they used a method of withdrawing money sent by the buyer in cash, depositing it into a separate account, and withdrawing cash repeatedly.

The brothers and sisters enjoyed a luxurious life by driving 3 high-priced imported cars such as Porsche and Benz with the income from selling fakes.

Their blogs and social media have grown to 2,300 members, with word of mouth selling'extra S-class counterfeits', and the number of actual buyers has reached 700.

The main customers are professional women such as doctors and university professors, and wealthy housewives.

While selling counterfeits, they expanded their'business' by providing customer service such as exchange, repair and private banking.

Seoul Customs confiscated counterfeit goods and manufacturing equipment in Korea, while confiscating foreign cars and bank accounts to recover criminal proceeds.

All of the confiscated counterfeit goods, such as counterfeit Hermes bags, which cost 10 million won per unit, will be discarded.

In addition, we are working with overseas customs and trademark owners to crack down on overseas manufacturing plants that are the source of counterfeit supplies.
