Dubai Electricity and Water Authority announced yesterday the launch of a virtual 3D version of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy exhibitions, which they are organizing from 26 to 28 October.

The authority indicated, during a press conference held yesterday, that the number of companies participating in the virtual version of the two exhibitions has so far reached 1049 companies from 52 countries, including 168 companies in the field of solar energy, as well as 47 sponsors, and it is expected that the number of visitors will reach The virtual exhibition reaches 40 thousand visitors.

In detail, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Chairman and Founder of the Exhibition "WETEX" and the Dubai Solar Energy Exhibition, said that “due to the precautionary measures applied in most countries of the world, as a result of the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid-19), The authority organizes the two exhibitions this year through a virtual three-dimensional platform, using modern specialized technologies. This innovative (carbon-neutral) version, the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, will provide an exceptional experience for exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, to see the latest technologies and the latest Developments in the fields of water, energy, sustainability and innovation, in addition to a set of seminars and sessions that will be led by experts and specialists in various fields of green economy, smart cities, innovation and sustainable development.

He added that “a virtual 3D version of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy exhibitions will be launched during the period from 26 to 28 October, while the number of companies participating in the virtual version of the exhibition has so far reached 1049 companies from 52 countries. Of which 168 companies are in the field of solar energy, and it has attracted 47 sponsors. The number of visitors to the virtual exhibition is expected to reach 40,000.

Al Tayer pointed out that “Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the authority organizes two exhibitions annually. (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Energy, in line with efforts to promote sustainable development in the UAE, which resulted in policies, strategies and plans, including the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Emission Reduction Strategy 2021, which strengthened Dubai’s position as a global center for the green economy.
