From October 1st to 4th, tourist attractions in Sichuan Province received 11.9644 million tourists and achieved a ticket revenue of 16.21051 million yuan. More than 150 major tourist attractions (spots) in Shanghai received 4.19 million tourists in the four days before the National Day holiday. A year-on-year increase of 3%...

Halfway through the National Day Mid-Autumn Festival, from the “hard to find a car” in popular destinations to the sold-out of tickets for some scenic spots, the tourism market is recovering strongly.

At the same time, the changed tourism consumption concept after the epidemic is quietly reshaping the tourism market. New hot spots such as "surrounding travel" and "car rental fever" are worthy of attention.

——Long holidays and short journeys, "surrounding tours" have become a new hot spot.

According to An Maocheng, president of the Chengdu Tourism Accommodation Industry Association, the overall income level of Chengdu's accommodation industry in the first three days of this year's holiday was higher than that of the same period last year. Some popular scenic spots and urban areas appeared "difficult to find a room."

He believes that after the epidemic, people's outlook on tourism consumption has changed, and "surrounding tours" and "healthcare tours" have become new hot spots for tourism consumption.

The popularity of short-distance excursions and resort hotels around the city during the "Double Festival" holiday continues to rise.

The younger generation of parents taking their children to stay in hotels has become a new way of life. There are more and more accommodations under the "parent-child card". Almost every hotel has added parent-child rooms with children's facilities.

According to a report issued by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the travel time of tourists has generally been shortened this year, mainly for 3 to 5 days, and tourists have higher requirements for in-depth localization experience and consumer comfort.

——Car rental and self-driving occupy the mainstream, and "private groups" have become a new trend.

“It’s so convenient to rent a car. Time is free, the seats are comfortable, and you can stop when you go.” There is one week before the National Day, and Ms. Liu from Chengdu took her family to Sanya for vacation in advance.

Two days before the trip, Ms. Liu booked a 7-seater commercial vehicle online. After getting off the plane, she picked up the car at the airport and started traveling.

The relevant person in charge of Ctrip told reporters that this year, self-driving car rental has become the trend of travel during the National Day holiday. The number of car rental bookings on the Ctrip car rental platform during the National Day holiday has increased by 150% from the previous month. More than 50% of users have used Ctrip for the first time.

In the normalized epidemic prevention stage, self-driving travel can better meet tourists' public health needs than public transportation.

Gao Gao, a practitioner of customized tourism in Shanghai, said that "private groups" of 4 to 6 people are also a new trend that has spawned in this context.

This group experience is completely new to the "post-90s" Mr. Shi who prefers free travel.

On October 3, Mr. Shi returned to Shenzhen from an 8-day trip to the Northwest with a distance of about 2,600 kilometers.

He and 8 colleagues booked a "private group" at a travel agency, with a full-time driver and tour guide and a 15-seater medium-sized bus.

"Such a group is in great demand, and we made an appointment nearly a month in advance." Mr. Shi said.

——From accommodation to tickets, online booking has become the mainstream.

“There are very few guests who make temporary reservations this year. Basically, they started booking a long time ago.” said Che Yang, the owner of the “net celebrity” B&B in Chongzhou City, Chengdu. The room was as early as 9 on October 1st to 5th. The reservation has been completed early in the month.

According to data from the Ctrip ticket platform, as of October 4, the number of online bookings in scenic spots during the National Day holiday increased by more than 100% year-on-year, and the number of tourists from Ctrip in some scenic spots reached 2 to 5 times last year, with a maximum increase of more than 10 times.

The relevant person in charge of the Ctrip ticket platform said that this benefited from the maturity of reservation services in major scenic spots, and booking tickets through the travel platform has become a habit of tourists.
