Daikin has been producing air purifiers in Japan for the first time since 2008.
"Daikin Industries" currently manufactures all residential air purifiers in China.
Last year, we sold about 300,000 units in Japan in FY2019, but domestic demand is increasing due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and we expect to sell about 550,000 units this year, part of the production. I decided to move from China to Japan.
The specific time and place to start domestic production is undecided, but we are considering "Shiga Seisakusho" in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture as a candidate.
This is the first time Daikin has returned to Japan in the production of air purifiers since 2008.
As demand for air purifiers is increasing overseas, we plan to start production in Malaysia in addition to China in December, and this year we expect to sell 780,000 units worldwide, which is double the previous year. is.
