Teleworking: On what points are unions and employers going to negotiate?

  • After a first round of meetings in September, unions and employers will meet in November to talk about telework.

  • The coronavirus crisis has accelerated the use of this device, but some are calling for better supervision.

  • The unions want in particular to defend the voluntary side of teleworking.

During confinement, if you didn't have to be at your workstation, you were surely at home, reading your emails and answering the phone from your sofa.

Like you, millions of employees have experimented with “forced” teleworking for months, pushing the unions to demand a new national inter-professional agreement (ANI) on the subject.

The most recent dates back to ... 2005, which is to say the stone age of teleworking.

After dragging their feet a little during the first discussions in September, the employers' representatives (Medef, CPME, U2P) finally accepted the principle of a negotiation, the first meeting of which will be held on November 3.

If the objective is rather consensual - "to allow a successful implementation of telework" - points of friction remain with the unions.
