The labor market registered a notable advance last September compared to the previous month.

There is a great distance to the levels prior to the hibernation of the economy in March but it fell by 26,329 people, or 0.69%.

More than 700,000 workers keep their jobs suspended in temporary employment regulation files (ERTE).

In a market as seasonal as Spain, the end of summer is a period in which the monthly balance of hires and casualties is usually negative, but in the year in which all records of accelerated destruction have been broken in March and April of employment, September has yielded positive figures.

It is the best data since 1996.

To a large extent, the employment outlook in the early fall is a reaction to the ground lost in the preceding six months.

Social Security has seen its membership record recover for five months, although the rate is clearly lower than the intensity with which it was lost at the beginning of the pandemic.
