This is the first township-level railway station in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province. It is the only newly added station in the ten years since the opening of Yiwan Railway.
Gaoping Station of Yiwan Railway is one of the main frameworks of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" railway network-one of the important poverty alleviation projects of Yiwan Railway. The railway station is located in the middle section of Yiwan Railway, in Jianshi County, Enshi Prefecture, east of Badong Station is 26.9 kilometers away and 39 kilometers away from Jianshi Station to the west. It is the only fourth-class station on the entire Yiwan Railway.

The station is designed according to the annual throughput of 500,000 people, radiating the surrounding Chongqing and Hubei provinces, driving the tourism development of 2 national 4A-level scenic spots, 3 national 3A-level scenic spots, and 3 characteristic towns within an hour's drive , Bringing convenience to people in 12 towns and villages in Badong, Jianshi, and Wushan counties.
On the opening day, the railway department arranged a total of 11 trains to stop at Gaoping Station.
In the future, 18 trains will continue to handle passenger transportation at this station. Passengers can go directly to Wuhan, Enshi, Lichuan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanchang, Zhengzhou and other places.

It can be seen from the railway 12306 website that the first train from Wuhan to Gaoping Station is D5943 from Hankou Station at 6:31, and stops at Jingzhou, Zhijiang North, Yichang East and other stations along the way, and arrives at 9:38. Gaoping, the whole journey runs for 3 hours and 7 minutes.
