Channel "worry" leads to increased revenue "worry"

Zuokou Township is the nearest township to Chun'an County, but at the beginning of the 21st century, the local area was "worried" by roads.

"Every time I go to the county, I have to leave at 5 am, and it takes more than 2 hours to walk to the pier. After boarding the boat, it takes another 2 hours. A day is spent on the road. It feels close at hand, but far away." Zuokou Fang Zhiyi, an 87-year-old village secretary in Fengxiang Natural Village, still remembers the days without roads.

Around 2000, roads in surrounding towns were opened one after another, but Zuokou Township was still an "isolated island."

"The formation of Qiandao Lake turned the original road of Zuokou Township into a dead end road. Both the total economic income and the per capita income of the township are the reciprocal in Chun'an, and there is not enough funds to build roads." Xu Jianqiu, former head of Zuokou Township Memories.

Traffic congestion makes the shopping and transaction needs of the villagers a problem.

As a result, the country temple fair flourished for a while.

For example, Fang Zhiyi said, “We hold a temple fair on March 3rd of the lunar calendar every year. In each event, hundreds of folks from ten miles and eight townships can gather, ranging from crisp candy and fruits to fabrics, enamel washbasins, and children’s toys. Everything."

Although life needs have been resolved, the obstacles on the road are still the bottleneck.

Zuokouxiang, who has learned from the pain, is determined to change.

In 2004, the local government obtained funds from the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, a partnering unit, and mobilized the villagers to raise funds. The first road to the countryside was built, which removed the title of “the only one in Zhejiang”.

Since then, the Qiandao Lake Bridge, Guangzuo Highway, Hangzhou-Huangzhou High-speed Railway... Zuokou Township's traffic improvement has entered an accelerated phase, achieving "networking" with the outside world.

"After the Qianhuang Expressway opens to traffic at the end of 2020, foreign tourists can get off at the Wangzhai exit and reach Zuokou Township in 5 minutes." said Chu Caixian, Party Secretary of Zuokou Township.

  Ecological "excellent" promotes economic "excellent"

"I will strive to deliver your kiwi fruit tonight, and I will receive it at noon tomorrow." Then there was another call after another call came.

Hong Sanhe, a large planter of Kuixingqiao Baiguoyuan in Zuokou Township, said, “I used to buy ships for transportation, and now tens of thousands of catties of fruits are transported by logistics and land every day, and there are more than 50 pickers on self-driving tours.”

The access road not only facilitates the "exit" of agricultural products, but also activates the unique advantages of Zuokou Township in an all-round way. Business opportunities follow the road and enter the towns: starting in 2006, Zuokou Township has taken rural tourism as a breakthrough for development.

Relying on mountains and rivers to develop tourism projects can attract more than 60,000 tourists every year.

Tourism not only solves the problem of labor employment in the villages along the way, but also boosts the sales of agricultural products. Temple fairs are no longer the only channels for villagers to buy things, and have quickly become a characteristic rural tourism activity.

In 2014, with the blessing of tourism projects and the "flow" of tourists, Zuokou Township's homestay economy stepped forward.

"When decorating the homestay, I chose the old-fashioned style, which even my father didn't approve." Hong Jianhua, who returned from studying abroad, opened the first featured homestay in Zuokou Township.

From the first day that he "entered" the homestay industry, new thinking and old thinking have collided with each other in Zuokou Township.

In the month after the hotel opened, the endless stream of check-in tourists gradually dispelled the doubts of the elders.

The upsurge of the digital economy also flooded into Zuokou Township.

After riding on the "express train" of economic development, Hong Jianhua led the villagers to play "cross-border". Research bases and scene-based live teaching bases have landed one after another, and local economic development has begun to enter the "cloud" side.

"Relying on the superior traffic environment and the superior ecological environment of Qiandao Lake, Zuokou Township now has 60 live broadcast rooms covering different scenes such as food, courtyards, and rural areas. The selection center has a supply chain of nearly 1,000 SPUs. MCN institutions and universities in the triangle area have cooperated." Hong Jianhua said.

With the increase in the number of Xiangxians returning to their hometowns to start businesses, the development of Zuokou Township has shifted from being driven by the government to being driven by talents and the market.

In more than ten years, Zuokou Township has grown from only 8 small restaurants to 75 various types of catering hotels and homestays.

In 2019, the local area received a total of 462,000 rural tourist tourists, and realized tourism economic income of 52.962 million yuan.

The autumn wind stroked Zuokou Township. After greeted the tourists at the entrance of the B&B at Hong Jianhua Station, he looked at the dark asphalt road in a daze.

"Speaking of which, you may not believe it. In fact, my biggest dream when I was a kid was to escape this closed and poor place."

From the last passage to flying to the clouds, Zuokou Township staged the "worries" to "excellence" of the inland towns in Zhejiang; from the road to the people, the change continues, and the story of a well-off society is still being told.
