Two brothers from Morbihan have created a plastic tab to prevent fogging on the glasses when wearing the mask.

Revolutionary for some.

  • Hugo and Johan Lejeune invented a plastic tab that prevents the glasses from fogging.

  • These two brothers have found a solution to a problem that tires all eyeglass wearers forced to wear a mask.

  • Demand is exploding and their order book continues to grow.

It has become a major problem for hundreds of millions of people around the world.

Until now reserved for a small caste of mask wearers, the phenomenon of fog on glasses has taken on a magnitude as sudden as it is considerable with the appearance of Covid-19.

Forced to wear a mask to avoid spreading the most famous virus on the planet, the population of myopic, presbyopic, hyperopic and astigmatic (the curvy ones…) has seen the horizon blur in recent months.

Two Bretons may have found the solution to their worries.

Installed in Arzal, in Morbihan, the Lejeune brothers have invented a solution preventing fogging thanks to a simple plastic tab to put on the mask.

Simple in appearance but complex to achieve.

Called Sanbué, the revolutionary product will perhaps change the lives of tens of thousands of French people.

But be patient, it will be necessary to wait until the end of October to see the small tab be marketed to the general public.

If we make it clear up front, it is because the demand is enormous.

“We knew we had found something interesting because it works very well.

We knew there would be demand.

But honestly, I never thought it would take on such proportions.

Since Monday, we have not stopped being solicited.

We even have a man who wanted to erect a statue for us.

"

At the break of training in the prevention of occupational risks that he distils in Pontchâteau (Loire-Atlantique), Hugo Lejeune confides his astonishment.

Wearing glasses, he was quickly annoyed to see his vision blur with each breath in his mask.

With his brother Johan, boss of a plastics processing company, he worked on a prototype to put an end to this inconvenience.

“We tried all shapes and materials, but there was always something wrong”.

A few weeks ago, the two brothers finally found the ideal composition, which they want to keep secret.

With a simple scratch, the strip offers the advantage of adapting to surgical masks as to fabric models.

Above all, it is reusable, recyclable and even prevents your mask from sliding off your nose.

Patented, Sanbué is a highly coveted product.

Companies have already expressed their interest in ordering 10,000 copies per month.

And messages from professionals and individuals keep flowing in the mailbox of the very young company.

“We have a capacity of 100,000 pieces per month but we can quickly increase to 200 or 250,000 if necessary,” says the boss.

A kit comprising three tabs and a disinfectant bottle will be offered at the end of October to individuals for a price of 10 euros.

“We want to remain accessible,” assumes Hugo Lejeune.
