Xinhua News Agency, Kunming, September 30 (Reporter Zhuang Beining) The Mengla-Mengman Port Expressway in Yunnan Province was officially opened to traffic at 19:00 on the 30th.

This is the second expressway from Yunnan Province of China to Laos.

  According to the Transportation Bureau of the Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, the Laman Expressway project has a total investment of 5.623 billion yuan and a total length of 49.02 kilometers of the main line. The route is located in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture. To the Mohan Expressway, it can lead to Jinghong and Kunming to the north, and to the southeast to the national port Mohan, leaving the country to Laos, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries; the ending point is at the national Mengman port and connected to Laos National Highway No. 17 , Can lead to Mangxin and Luang Nam Pagodas in Laos.

  According to reports, Laman Expressway is the first PPP investment model project invested and constructed by Yunnan Transportation Investment and Construction Group Co., Ltd. The Mengla County Government participates in financing construction.

The project officially started on October 16, 2017, and was delivered for acceptance on September 25 this year.

  It is understood that Laman Expressway, Laos Highway No. 3, and Asian Highway Network No. AH3 jointly constitute a 260-kilometer traffic passage for transnational high-grade highways in the border areas of China and Laos, which will accelerate the construction of the Mengla (Mohan) key development and opening pilot zone and promote -ASEAN economic and trade exchanges and economic development in southern Yunnan are of great significance, and they have an important position and role under the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative and the construction of the Southwest International Channel.
