Recently arrived on the market, the Lucid Motors brand, with its “Air” sedan, is starting to turn heads: 832 km of range, the fastest recharging on the market, incredible performance, and so on.
Unsurprisingly, Tesla couldn't help but strike back with a new version of its Model S sedan: the Plaid.
Thanks to its new generation of batteries and 3 electric motors (instead of 2 currently), the latter will be able to cover 840 km in a single charge while achieving 0 to 100 km / h in 2.1 seconds thanks to its 1,100 hp.
The Tesla Model S Plaid will be available at the end of 2021 for a price of € 139,990.
Less than $ 25,000 ... in 3 years
Elon Musk also announced that a much more affordable Tesla was under development, with a target price of $ 25,000 (or around € 21,300).
To achieve this, the brand will have to succeed in halving the cost of producing its vehicles, more specifically batteries.
And that is not won!
Elon Musk himself admits that it will take at least 3 years to achieve this, enough to take away a little enthusiasm from his most fervent admirers, especially on the stock market ...
