Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami expressed his intention to work to prevent the spread of pigs infected with CSF and classical swine fever for the first time in half a year at domestic pig farms, and also hygiene management for pig farms nationwide. It was confirmed that three pigs that died at a pig farm in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture on the 26th of this month were infected with CSF and classical swine fever.



It is the first time in about half a year that pig infections have been confirmed in domestic pig farms since it was confirmed in Okinawa Prefecture in March, and Gunma Prefecture has slaughtered all pigs raised in the same pig farm. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has dispatched staff to investigate infection routes.



Regarding this, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 29th, "It is a pity that it occurred for the first time in half a year. The first priority is to prevent epidemics, and we are strongly implementing epidemic prevention measures at the farm. "



On top of that, Minister Nogami revealed that he had given renewed guidance to pig farms nationwide to notify them early when cases of suspected infection were found and to thoroughly manage hygiene.
