UQ Mobile Mobile Charge Delinquent Credit Information Incorrectly Registered with External Institution September 28, 22:22

UQ Communications, a KDDI group company that offers a low-priced smartphone plan, UQ Mobile, has revealed that it mistakenly registered the data of users who have delinquent mobile phone charges with an external institution.

It is said that there is a possibility that the examination may have been affected when the user makes a credit contract due to a system malfunction.

UQ Communications, which develops UQ Mobile, registers data with external organizations that manage credit information for users who have been delinquent in mobile phone charges such as smartphones for three months or more.

However, according to the company, from January to September, the delinquency period was shorter than 3 months, and the data of users who were not originally registered with this external institution were also mistakenly registered.

More than 33,000 people were targeted, of which more than 12,000 said that there may have been some impact on the screening when trying to sign a credit or loan contract.

It means that the system was repaired by September 20th due to a problem with the system, and the registered data was also corrected.

UQ Communications commented, "We will strive to prevent recurrence so as not to make such mistakes."

The company will respond to inquiries at 0120-929-818 from 9 am to 9 pm, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
