Mécachrome France, the parent company which employs a total of 960 people, announced in recent days a social plan.

The group, which designs parts in particular for aeronautics, has suffered the full brunt of the consequences of the coronavirus crisis, which for many planes has nailed the ground.

In the region, only one site out of the three is affected by this social plan, that of Vibraye in Sarthe.

74 employees will be affected, announced this Monday

Some will be made redundant, others transferred to another site.

The Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire plant, which has 160 employees, near Nantes in Loire-Atlantique, is not targeted by this PSE, but its future still remains unclear.

More generally, nearly 400 jobs will be eliminated at the level of the Mécachrome France group, specializing in high precision mechanics.
