The Public Institution Steering Committee of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance has decided on a proposal for dismissal of Incheon International Airport Corporation President Koo Bon-hwan.

The Gongwoon Committee held a meeting presided over by the Second Vice Minister of the Ministry of Technology, Il-hwan Ahn at the Seoul Government Complex, and decided on a proposal for dismissal of President Gu, submitted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

President Koo, together with his attorney, clarified that the matters presented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport as reasons for dismissal are not true or do not correspond to the reasons for dismissal, but were not accepted.

An official from the Ministry of Science and Technology said, "It is an issue that is related to personal information, and administrative procedures will continue after the decision of the KFTC, so it is not appropriate to disclose the details of the resolution."

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to notify the results of the meeting to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is expected to begin the procedure for dismissing the former president.

The dismissal will be finalized when the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport submits a proposal for dismissing the former president to President Moon Jae-in, who is the authority to appoint, and receives approval from the President.

Previously, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, "As a result of conducting an internal audit for the former president, it was confirmed that he had violated the relevant laws and regulations, and according to the law, it was requested to submit a proposal for harm to the Ministry of Science and Technology."

On October 2, last year, during the audit of the state administration, President Koo left the bureau chief early saying that he was preparing for a typhoon, but the fact that he used a corporate card at a meat restaurant in Anyang City was controversial.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs recently conducted an audit to President Koo, and said that it was confirmed that the misconduct was confirmed, such as having a private meeting after leaving the office of the chief executive officer at the time, and submitting a false date to the National Assembly.

In addition, he added that the fairness of personnel management was undermined, such as the removal of the position by President Koo who claimed an unfair personnel affair and requested clarification.

In response, President Koo refuted, saying, "At the time, we did not violate related regulations such as the crisis response manual."

At that time, Incheon Airport had already been out of the area affected by the typhoon, and the weather warning was lifted and no damage occurred, so it was instructed to maintain a standby system instead of emergency work.

As for personnel matters, he explained that the employee sent a high-level protest e-mail, and that it was decided on the position system through the proper procedures of the personnel committee, and that it does not deviate from the discretion of the personnel authority.

President Koo made the same call at the public luck committee meeting, but it was not accepted.

Nevertheless, some argue that the government is trying to harden President Koo by asking for responsibility for the problems arising in the process of becoming a regular employee of Incheon International Airport Corporation, called the so-called'People's Incident.'

In fact, ahead of President Koo's press conference on the 16th, second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Son Myung-soo, who was at the National Assembly, received a message from someone concerned about whether Koo would make a bomb talk about the transition to a full-time job, and sent a worrying reply, saying, "It is true." It was also captured by this reporter's camera.

When asked by reporters about what the actual reason for dismissal was considered by President Koo, he said, "I guess, but I can't tell you, please guess together." "I followed the original plans of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Blue House. I wanted to finish."
