Big hamburger franchises are becoming unable to add tomatoes to their hamburgers.

Burger King said on the website today (24th), "It is difficult to supply and supply tomatoes nationwide due to the influence of the climate abnormally in summer and the typhoon."

This is the reason "the supply of tomatoes is not stable."

In fact, it is said that the price of tomatoes has become the'gold price' due to the longest rainy season in history and subsequent typhoons over 54 days.

If you look at the distribution information of agricultural products by the Korea Food Distribution Corporation (aT), the average wholesale price of tomatoes as of today is 62,000,660 won per 10 kg.

It was up 108% from 3,120 won a month ago.

One year ago, it was 28,000 won.

The retail price of tomatoes is 7,913 won for 1 kg today, a 58% jump from 4,49 won a month ago.

Other hamburger makers such as McDonald's and Lotteria also say that the supply and demand of tomatoes is unstable.

Due to the poor harvest this year, tomato shipments are not expected to be large for the time being.
