As a frontier of reform and opening up, Pudong has also made unique explorations in the field of "rural revitalization".

At a forum jointly organized by China News Service Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Pudong New Area Agriculture and Rural Committee, Zhu Jianjiang, director of the Institute of Urban and Population Development of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out that the development of modern agriculture is the “bottom line” of rural revitalization.

On this basis, each unique rural space has its own development possibilities.

"Shanghai's rural areas are primarily modern agriculture; those with resource endowments can develop rural tourism; the third is innovation and entrepreneurship based on industry."

  This coincides with Pudong's exploration.

Su Jinshan, director of the Agriculture and Rural Committee of Shanghai Pudong New Area, said that in Pudong, different types of villages rely on local resource endowments and pilot different development paths according to local conditions: existing industries rely on industrial complexes to drive development and upgrade traditional agriculture to modern urban agriculture Models; also relying on the regional advantages of the village to introduce new resources and new elements, and use the rural environment as the base to develop a variety of business formats, such as homestays and talent apartments.

Xu Min, the deputy mayor of Chuansha New Town, said that the town is building an ecological landscape as a resource endowment and branded homestays as an entry point to drive the linkage of the three industries and form a rural hematopoietic function.

The cost of housing in Shanghai is high, and the construction of rural talent apartments can not only standardize housing rental behavior, but also bring stable income to villagers.

Wang Qing, the mayor of Zhangjiang Town, said that in the future, Zhangjiang Town will gradually replicate and promote a group of rural talent apartment projects, and turn the village into a "poetic back garden" of Zhangjiang Science City.

The "Nanhui 8424 Watermelon", which has repeatedly won the gold medal of the China Agricultural Expo, is well-known in Shanghai and the whole country, which is inseparable from the vigorous development of modern agriculture in Huinan Town, Pudong, where it is produced.

Pan Xiuhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huinan Town, introduced that Huinan has formed a new agricultural business model of "brand leadership-united main body-production and marketing docking-benefit sharing".

"Industry Consortium" is also one of the useful explorations made by Pudong.

At the forum, the Pudong New Area Agriculture and Rural Committee was held for Xiangdingdang Melon and Fruit Industrialization Consortium, Thousand Villages and Hundred Fruits Leisure Picking Industrialization Consortium, Field Vegetable and Fruit Industrialization Consortium, Fengmeng Rice Industrialization Consortium, and Qiao Zhan Malantou Consortium Licensing ceremony.

At the same time, Pudong Agricultural Development Group signed contracts with Zhangjiang Town, Zhoupu Town, Hangtou Town, Datuan Town, Shuyuan Town, Xinchang Town, and Xuanqiao Town for rural revitalization strategy.

"In the previous process of agricultural product sales, the right to speak was in the hands of the sales company." Su Jinshan said that with the continuous development of new retail models, market entities are also "seeking talents" for high-quality and stable agricultural products channels.

Therefore, in the process of rural revitalization, Pudong has created an "industrial complex": by introducing leading market enterprises, the agricultural products produced by family farm cooperatives and ordinary farmers can be converted into standardized commodities, thereby enhancing farmers' benefits.

At the same time, a profit "secondary distribution" mechanism was introduced to "divide" the purchase price based on the selling price of agricultural products.

In this way, the multi-party benefits of enterprises, farmers and collectives can be achieved.

In the subsequent round table forum session, scholars, government officials and relevant entrepreneurs discussed the experience of participating in rural revitalization.

Chen Yumo, the person in charge of Suyu Homestay, said that in addition to directly increasing farmers’ rent income, the homestay’s ability to “carry goods” should not be underestimated.

At present, the characteristic homestays in Pudong have become the selling point of vegetables, fruits and rice in the countryside, and they are very popular among residents (End)
