After tables, chairs, cutlery (and everything that makes up an apartment), Ikea is tackling… solar panels.

The Swedish furniture giant announced on Tuesday the marketing of "a turnkey installation service for solar panels for individuals", in partnership with the firm Voltalia.

"This service aims to make the installation of solar panels simpler and more accessible", explains Ikea, according to which "the customer can reduce the energy bill by 50% on average thanks to self-consumption and the resale of the surplus of electricity produced ”.

For all types of roofs

The company, which is partnering for the occasion with Voltalia, an international player in renewable energies, offers two types of offers, one "to adapt to the best exposed roofs, from 6,990 euros for 6 panels, and 7,990 euros for 9 panels ”, another“ adapting to different types of roofs, with material to optimize production and self-consumption ”, 1,000 euros more expensive.

Ikea announces guarantees including “5 years for all-inclusive after-sales service”, “5 years of performance guarantees” during which “if there is a difference between the performance announced in the final estimate and the actual production of installation, the customer will be reimbursed for the difference ”,“ 10 year minimum manufacturer's warranty on components (panels and inverter) ”and“ 25 years warranty on panel performance ”.

This product is expected to go on sale “in autumn 2020” and will be called SOLSTRÅLE.
