　　According to the location of the business unit, in August, the retail sales of consumer goods in cities and towns was 2,927.3 billion yuan, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year, and in July it was a decrease of 1.1%; the retail sales of rural consumer goods were 429.8 billion yuan, an increase of 0.7%, and that in July was a decrease of 1.3%.

From January to August, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 20,066.4 billion yuan, down 8.7% year-on-year; the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas was 3,138.6 billion yuan, down 8.3%.

　　In terms of consumption type, in August, retail sales of goods were 2,995.1 billion yuan, up 1.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 1.3 percentage points higher than that in July; catering revenue was 361.9 billion yuan, down 7.0%, and the rate of decline was 4 percentage points narrower than that in July.

From January to August, retail sales of goods were 21,651.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%; catering revenue was 2,151 billion yuan, a decrease of 26.6%.

　　From January to August, the national online retail sales reached 7032.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from January to July.

Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods was 5,865.1 billion yuan, an increase of 15.8%, accounting for 24.6% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; among the online retail sales of physical goods, food, clothing and consumer goods increased by 35.4% and 1.1% respectively And 18.3%.
