The government announced today (15th) that it will support all citizens 13 years of age or older with a method of deducting 20,000 won for communication costs in September for the one-person mobile communication line currently held in September.

The Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication explained the standards and contents of such fee support through an announcement today.

Telecom fee support includes low-cost phones and prepaid phones, excluding corporate-name mobile phones.

However, if you use both a prepaid phone and a postpaid phone, the postpaid phone is given priority, and in the case of a large number of postpaid phones, the mobile phone that opened first is given priority.

If you only have a prepaid phone, we will support the communication cost of a prepaid phone with a usage period of 15 days or more as of the end of September.

As for the communication fee support method, in principle, the fee for September is deducted in October.

If the monthly fee is less than 20,000 won, it can be carried over to the next month and receive a flat rate of 20,000 won.

There is no separate application process.

If you use a mobile phone in a different family name, you must change it to your own name to receive support.

You can change your name by visiting a nearby agency or store with documents proving your family relationship, such as an ID card, health insurance card, or family relationship certificate.

The Ministry of Science and ICT explained that it is in discussions with carriers on an easier method.

If you are eligible for communication expenses, you can receive information via text message (SMS) in advance on the mobile communication line, and you can be notified of the deduction immediately after payment.

Details will be notified through text message (SMS) after passing the National Assembly budget.
