Dubai Tourism closes 4 facilities and suspends 14 permits for non-compliance with preventive measures

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai "Dubai Tourism" stressed the need to preserve the gains achieved by the Dubai government within its strategy for the gradual return to tourism and commercial activity, and until reaching the full and safe practice of normal life in the city, which required it to make more effort to enhance Dubai's position as one of the safest destinations in the world, which culminated in the city obtaining the Safe Travel Seal from the World Travel and Tourism Council.

Meanwhile, the launch of the Dubai Assured initiative has given visitors and residents more reassurance by ensuring that the destinations and places they visit comply with public health and safety protocols.

Dubai Tourism stated that the wise leadership always puts the health and safety of community members and visitors at the forefront of its priorities, especially during this period that witnessed great challenges resulting from the "Covid-19" pandemic, which requires everyone to cooperate fully and follow preventive measures to preserve public health. And moving towards the recovery phase.

From the beginning of the crisis until this stage, the department has been keen on continuous communication with its partners in the sector, informing them of the latest developments, and providing them with the necessary instructions and conditions to gradually resume tourism activities within a safe environment, whether for employees in places where dealing directly with visitors or the public, stressing the need for Not tolerating their application or leniency with violators.

In this regard, the inspection teams of the department conduct field tours of hotel facilities and tourist attractions to ensure their commitment to the preventive measures and guidelines approved by the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai in the face of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic, as well as from the concerned authorities according to each Activity.

As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with the precautionary and preventive measures followed to limit the spread of the virus, Dubai Tourism has monitored some violations, and has taken appropriate measures against it, including closing 4 facilities, stopping permits for 14 establishments, while a final warning was given to 19 facilities.

The department stressed the need not to be complacent or neglectful of the precautionary measures and preventive measures, especially since this virus has not been eliminated, and its negative effects still affect the countries of the whole world.

It also called on its partners to adhere to the guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone, as well as to ensure business continuity so that the tourism sector returns to its momentum.
