Between tuition, accommodation, food and a whole bunch of other ancillary costs, a student's budget is often very tight.
Suffice to say that the purchase of a brand new high-performance computer is not always the order of the day.
And yet, this equipment has become imperative to continue your course in good conditions.
Financial aid is there to give every opportunity to succeed in your studies.
CAF, always present
The Family Allowance Funds (CAF) all offer a micro-loan system dedicated to IT equipment.
Although the terms of this boost may vary from one department to another, it is necessary in all cases to be a beneficiary and to respect a ceiling of the family quotient.
For example, this loan can reach 500 euros in Haute-Vienne, to be repaid over two years, while the CAF du Tarn offers 600 euros to finance a computer, a tablet and even a printer, and that of Loiret offers up to 900 euros for a global envelope intended for the acquisition of household equipment, furniture or IT.
Check with the Caisse in your department.
The CAF, the region or your university can help you buy a computer for your studies.

The region in reinforcement
Students can also look to their region to finance the purchase of a computer.
While most of them offer aid intended for young people in apprenticeship, the help is less numerous for those who are in initial training.
In Champagne-Ardenne, students under 27, enrolled in at least the second year of the license, can obtain 200 euros, and up to 400 euros if they are scholarship holders.
In Occitania, aid is given as a priority to students of schools labeled “digital high school”, but can still be granted in the event of low income.
The most generous academies can offer up to 500 euros to equip themselves.
Invested universities
Some universities are also providing financial support for their most vulnerable students.
The Faculty of Letters of the Sorbonne, for example, relies on a home loan system for laptops from the second semester of license 1, while the Jean-Monnet University, in Saint-Étienne, reimburses your bill until 'to 200 euros.
For its part, the University of Paris-Saclay offers “individual material and computer assistance” to students in initial training, based on resources, reaching 350 euros for a computer, 150 for a tablet and 50 for an internet connection.
