With its new supercar called MC20, Maserati is entering a new era.
While the coronavirus is far from being defeated, the Trident brand presented this novelty during a rather crazy event near Modena, Italy, bringing together 400 people, instead of the 1,200 planned before the health crisis.

A convertible and an electric to come
The road version that we were able to admire develops 630 horsepower thanks to the all-new in-house twin-turbo V6 installed in the rear central position.
It propels the MC20 from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 2.9 seconds, and up to 325 km / h at peak speed.
The body hides a carbon fiber monocoque, which allows the MC20 to weigh less than 1,500 kg.
This monohull will give birth to a convertible and a 100% electric version which will be presented in 2022.

Back to competition
With this excellent foundation, Maserati also plans a return to its origins: competition.
But at present, the program is not yet fully known.
One thing is certain: the MC20 is the worthy descendant of the MC12 which had been produced in very small series for the road and which, in its racing version, had largely dominated the FIA GT endurance championship from 2005 to 2010, and had won the 24 Hours of Spa 3 times (2005-2006-2008).

The price of the road MC20 is expected to be around € 220,000.
