Last week, when step 2.5 of social distancing was implemented, sales of small business owners in Seoul decreased by nearly 40% compared to a year ago.

The purpose of this second subsidy is to help people who have difficulty living in this way right away. As some people receive and others cannot, depending on the industry or standard, there is a story of equity.

For example, the general industry can only receive money where sales have declined since the coronavirus, but it is difficult to prove it for newly opened stores.

In addition, since only stores with annual sales of 400 million won or less can be received, complaints may arise if a little exceeds this standard.

At the same time, the size of the stores are all different, and the number of sales decreases due to the inability to do business vary widely, and voices are also asking whether it is right to give them the same regardless of that.

Reporter Kim Hye-min heard the response from the scene.

Mr. Cha Mo, who has been running a Japanese restaurant in Goyang City for 13 years, says that these days, losses amount to 10 million won a month.

As the restaurant is large, the loss is snowballed, but 1.5 million won in subsidies is not helpful.

[Mr. Chao/Japanese restaurant owner: When it goes well, it's close to 200-300 (10,000 won), but if you sell 100,000 won, it sells a lot, and sometimes there are no customers.

When it comes to evenings, my stomach burns and my eyes are dark.]

Most small self-employed people responded that the amount of support was insufficient compared to the damage.

Owners of entertainment pubs that have been discontinued several times due to high-risk businesses, but are excluded from support, are protesting.

The reason is the sentiment of the people, but there are many small businesses.

[Park Tae-joon/Singing Town Owner: It's not a receptionist, only customers enjoy singing while eating alcohol and snacks, but since the business is an entertainment business, it's too unfair.]

Regardless of the size and damage of sales, the same amount is paid Responding to the complaints of the self-employed community that they applied, the government explained that it was inevitable for prompt payments before Chuseok.

In addition, if there is no sales report data due to a new start-up, it has announced that it will provide support through monthly card sales data.

The Ministry of Science and Technology said that in the case of entertainment establishments that include only Danran pubs, each local government can adjust the target more widely.
