In the August survey, the index showing the current economic situation was 43.9, up 2.8 points from the previous month and improving for the fourth consecutive month.
However, by industry, the
indices for housing and retail have improved, while those for
food and beverage have deteriorated by about 4 points, and the spread of new coronavirus infections continues.
