Etihad Airways announced the provision of international health insurance against the "Covid-19" pandemic, as part of its health and safety program.

The company added, in a statement yesterday, that the insurance will cover medical expenses, or quarantine expenses when traveling on board «Etihad Airways», in the event that a passenger is discovered to be infected with the new Corona virus during the flight.

It detailed that in the event that a guest is discovered to be infected with the new Corona virus, while traveling outside his home country, international Covid-19 insurance will cover treatment costs up to 150,000 euros, and quarantine costs up to 100 euros per day, if the result is positive for 14 days.

All tickets, regardless of the date of reservation, that are booked between now and December 31 of this year, will be included in the "Covid-19" insurance.

As for guests with existing reservations, they will be automatically included in the program, and the insurance is valid for 31 days, starting from the first day of travel.

Senior Vice President for Sales and Distribution at Etihad Airways, Duncan Beru, said that providing international insurance against "Covid 19", in partnership with "AXA" Insurance Company, is one of the court actions taken by Etihad Airways.

He added: “We seek to instill confidence among travelers, encourage them to travel and increase their reassurance of their health and safety.

With more countries heading to open their borders, we seek to facilitate the matter as much as possible.
