The French health authorities have withdrawn several batches of Spanish fuet from the markets after detecting

, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture this Thursday, although it has not specified the severity of the cases.
The infected people declared to have consumed fuet from the company "
Embutidos Solà
" and, as confirmed by the General Food Directorate, several batches of this sausage were contaminated, details a statement from the ministry.
The cases were detected between July
8 and August 3.
The investigation has led to the recall of this product at a point of sale, a supermarket in
La Gironde
, in the New Aquitaine region, and from today all stocks that may be in other supermarkets will be withdrawn, the note added.
Likewise, the French health authorities recommend that people who have these fuets do not consume them and
notify the point of sale where they were purchased
.
The symptoms of salmonellosis are usually
diarrhea, vomiting, fever and headache
, among others.
The effects of the infection can be more severe in young children and pregnant women.
The health authorities report that if seven days have passed since the consumption of this product and no symptoms have occurred, it is not necessary to go to the doctor.
