Doctors who are on strike indefinitely against the expansion of medical school gardens and the establishment of public medical schools are taking a collective action to submit resignations.

The Korean Association of Majorities (Daejeon Association) announced that today (27th), the '5th Young Doctors Group Action', which only requests resignation, began at 10 am on the day.

Daejeon Hyup Chairman Park Ji-hyun explained that the action was in response to the government's order to commence business yesterday to major physicians and full-time physicians in the metropolitan area training hospitals who took a group leave.

All doctors in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Severance Hospital submitted resignations.

Asan Medical Center in Seoul has received resignations of 10 out of a total of 300 students in their majors.

In the case of Samsung Medical Center, Seoul National University Hospital, Korea University Anam Hospital, Konkuk University Hospital, and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, there have been no resignations for majors received so far.

However, as submissions started at 10 am today, additional submissions may increase.

The government today issued orders to commence individual operations for 358 personnel in emergency rooms and intensive care units in 20 hospitals in the metropolitan area.

It was reported that many of the majors who took a break yesterday turned off their phones and could not be reached.

The Central Accident Recovery Headquarters (recovery version) said, "Most of the disabled people have avoided receiving orders by turning off their mobile phones and not receiving calls. After issuing the order receipt and confirmation to hospital officials, etc., they can be served to those who have been suspended. And made the related debt."

The Daejeon Association implemented the'Blackout Code of Conduct' to minimize contact with the outside by turning off all mobile devices that can be reached for 12 hours from 10 am to 10 pm yesterday.

Chairman Park Ji-hyun explained, "It was a guideline to block all kinds of misinformation and false information from the outside and to strengthen internal solidarity."

He appealed to the majors, saying, "After receiving the order to commence work, teachers in my major including myself submitted resignations," and "I'm uneasy about the government's coercive attitude, but trust the Daejeon Hyup Emergency Response Committee."

Kim Hyun-sook, head of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Medical Resources Policy Division, said, "Submitting a letter of resignation according to a precedent is an example of a group act. In this case, an order to commence work can also be issued, and in case of non-compliance, the actions taken will be the same."

Failure to comply with the order to commence business may result in imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won.

Administrative measures such as suspension or cancellation of licenses are also possible.
